Sims Engineering
 Sims Engineering Solutions Corporation was established in 2012 in response to Alberta's present demand for residential, commercial and industrial electrical engineering and project management. Clint Sims has over 20 years experience ranging from the design, procurement, construction management and commissioning of oil-sands facilities to complete project management and 'owner's engineering' for traction power substations. Clint is knowledgeable and experienced with the Canadian Electrical Code and has applied that knowledge to residential design, fire alarm system design, hazardous location designs, as well as communication and power system designs. Clint graduated from SAIT with a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1994 and immediately moved to Fort McMurray where he worked for Syncrude until 1999. During his time at Syncrude Clint successfully completed his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering through the University of Calgary. Following graduation from U of C, Clint worked in Calgary on the TransCanada Midstream project responsible for engineering of plant-wide electrical distribution, instrumentation, and lighting. In 2002 Clint started working for Calgary's electric utility company focusing his attention on the engineering and project management of Light Rail traction power, communications and signalling as well as power transmission and distribution engineering and construction management. Clint takes great pride in customer service and end product quality and believes that safety starts with properly engineered systems by eliminating as many hazards as possible during the design process. Clint obtained a Masters Certificate in Project Management from York University and has held his Project Management Professional designation through PMI since 2004. Clint has recently decided to focus full-time on his Sims Engineering venture after having worked for Calgary's electric utility since 2002, most recently in the role of 'Director, Light Rail and Power' where he was responsible for the successful completion of engineering, project management and construction management for Light Rail transit and utility Power (transmission and distribution) projects.
